WHO ARE WE?
We were formally known as Advanced Fastening Systems Mining & Industrial (Pty) Ltd (AFSMI) that was founded in 2011. In 2019 AFSMI decided to move the Laboratory to a smaller sister company, so the old Laboratory was closed, and a new Laboratory was opened now known as AFS Calibration Logistics (Pty) Ltd (AFSCL), with, SANAS accreditation, CAL 092-08-00.
AFSCL have a Level Two (2) B-BBEE status.
Company’s key personnel
Charles Dobson (Owner and Director)
Charles received training at a Dakks calibration laboratory in Germany where he qualified as a calibration technician.
He started the first Dakks mobile laboratory in South Africa in partnership with Q-Direct Germany and managed the laboratory for the next 6 years.
He worked himself up to the position of Managing Director for AFS Group of Companies.
Leopold Leeuwner (Laboratory Manager)
Leopold began his calibration career as an electrical metrologist in 2004. He started performing torque calibration in 2008 and obtained his MetCert for torque and DCLF (Electrical) calibrations. During 2015, he was appointed as Laboratory Manager at AFSMI.He upholded the SANAS accreditation for the laboratory 841 and performed SANAS calibrations on torque equipment daily. When it was decided to close and withdraw the AFSMI laboratory and open the new laboratory, AFS Calibration Logistics (Pty) Ltd, we were proud to announce that Leopold once again would be in the position of Laboratory manager. During the difficult time of covid Leopold managed to move and open the new lab. Times were hard but he managed to obtain SANAS accreditation, technical signatory status, and the laboratory is fully functional.
AFS Calibration Logistics (Pty) Ltd is in partnership with Advanced Fastening Systems Mining and Industrial (Pty) Ltd.

- AFSCL conjunction with AFSMI are the sole agents for SCS products in SA, we calibrate and repair all SCS equipment.
